As time passed, I became more and more familiar with the paths through the park. I relished each day I was there. Sometimes it felt like I was the only person in Seattle who was awake. The colorful sunrises stunned me. Sometimes I was the only one soaking them in with my eyes and my camera lens. Other times, there were photographers with tripods and huge cameras taking time lapse images of the sunrise, switching out lenses and generally intimidating this amateur with her point and shoot camera.

There was one photographer in particular that I saw fairly frequently. He had some stunning images to show me on his iPad (which he toted with him, along with tripod and huge camera). He is an older man and he likes to teach me about photography and talk to me about cameras (which it not a topic I know well). He showed me how he "calls" birds to he can take pictures of them. He started following me. He said I had a way of finding moments to photograph that he had not seen in a long time. It made me feel proud instead of the sheepish way I usually felt amongst the "real" photographers.
