My new years resolution for 2014: to take one photograph every day of a beautiful moment. A way to take each day and make it special- even if the day had challenges and difficulties. I shared some of these moments with people in different ways and started a blog a while ago. Today, I formalize this project- this resolution and share what has been my birth as a photographer. My early shots were mostly of the sky. The sky in Seattle is astounding and my little camera liked being aimed at sunrises, sunsets and the nuances of the grey and gold skies. This week also marked the first time I caught a raindrop dripping from a tree branch. I remember wandering around Magnuson Park in full rain gear- early in the morning. It was cold and wet and the raindrops hung from the tree branches and looked like diamonds in the early morning light. It was not easy for me to take those raindrop shots- most of them blurred and often the drops fell before I could catch my lens on the image. Yet, my first droplet hanging from a branch was captured 1/7/14.
